Handover Watch, October 2026: Dubai Projects Due for Completion in the Next 9 Months

By Mohammed Umar Zakaria · 11 October 2026 · 3 min read

The short answer: 48 registered Dubai projects have completion dates between September 2026 and July 2027 in the Dubai Land Department’s latest open data. Some are nearly finished; others are far behind their registered date, which usually means the date will move. If you own a unit in one of them, now is the time to plan your final payment, snagging, and whether to sell, lease or move in.

How to read this

Figures come from the DLD’s Real Estate Projects register (snapshot dated 15 June 2026): each project’s registered completion date and the construction percentage recorded at that time. Construction has continued since then, and registered dates can be revised, so treat this as an early warning, not a final schedule. Tap any project to see its page and follow it: you’ll get an email when the DLD data changes.

Watch list: big gap between date and progress

These projects had registered completion dates in 2026 but were less than 30% built in June. A gap this size usually means the completion date will be revised, so check the latest schedule with the developer before you plan around it.

Also due in this window: more than a dozen Azizi Riviera buildings in Meydan (registered for March to May 2027, between roughly 30% and 85% built), several Imtiaz and Nakheel projects on Dubai Islands, and early-stage phases at DAMAC Hills. Search for any of them in our projects directory.

What this means if you own a unit

  • Nearly finished (60%+): handover could be months away. Arrange the final payment or completion mortgage now, book a snagging inspection, and decide whether to sell, lease or move in.
  • Big gap between date and progress: plan for a later completion than the registered date, and check your contract for what it says about delays.
  • Everyone: many units in the same building complete at once, so pricing and timing matter. Read our off-plan handover guide.

Umar’s take

The registered date is a starting point, not a promise. The construction percentage tells you far more about when you’ll actually get your keys. If you own in any of these projects and you’re thinking about selling or leasing around handover, plan three to six months ahead: buyers and tenants are comparing your unit with everyone else’s in the same building. Get a free valuation of your unit, and I’ll tell you honestly whether to sell now, at handover, or hold.
