24 hours to leave: finding a family a new home before the deadline

By Mohammed Umar Zakaria · 9 October 2026 · 1 min read

In short: after a long-running dispute with their landlord, a family received a verdict they weren’t prepared for: they had to leave their home within 24 hours. Within those 24 hours, I found them a new place and they moved in.

When the verdict came

This family had been in a dispute over their home for a long time. Disputes like that drag on, and while they do, you keep living your normal life, hoping it will work out. Then, suddenly, it was over. The verdict came, and they had 24 hours to leave.

They hadn’t prepared for that. No one does. One day you’re in your home; the next you’re facing the night with nowhere to take your family and your belongings. The fear in that moment isn’t about property. It’s about where your family will sleep.

24 hours

When they called me, there was no time for a long search or a list of options. They needed one suitable home, secured properly, before the deadline. So we focused on exactly that:

  1. Found the right place fast: a home that fitted the family, available immediately.
  2. Viewing: arranged and done the same day.
  3. Contract and paperwork: agreed and completed without cutting corners.
  4. Move-in: the family moved in and settled within the 24 hours.

The outcome

That night, the family slept in their new home instead of wondering where to go. A situation that could have been a disaster ended with them settled, together, under a new roof.

What this shows

Most property decisions deserve time. Some don’t have any. When a client is in a real emergency, my job is to stay calm, cut the process down to what matters, and get every step done properly, fast. Being useful when someone needs it most is the part of this work I’m proudest of.
